It’s now the Jewel of India restaurant on Broad Street. Its heyday was in the 1980’s, but it’s gone through a lot of changes since then. Journey’s Inn was likely the first public queer bar in San Luis Obispo. They describe it as a “re-queering” of a San Luis Obispo business which used to be one of the few gay bars in the city’s history. The Central Coast Queer Archive Project is co-hosting an event on May 12 ahead of Pride Month.
